Born on September 28, 1866 in London, England, Hilder studied art at the Julian Academy in Paris with Ferrier; also painting and etching in Holland.
He came to the U.S. in 1905 and built a successful career painting murals, stage settings, figures and landscapes in watercolor, oil and pastels.
Hilder painted the scenery for the Viking Pageant at the Newport Art Association in 1922; a series of murals of the life of Christ at St. Stephens Church in Coconut Grove, Florida; mur (showing 500 of 1059 characters). |
