Jack Hardcastle was an artist living in Nanaimo, B.C., Canada, up until his death . He was locally renowned for his oil and watercolor recreation of ships (ie: bluenose schooner, etc). Interestingly, he would also type a history of each ship and glue it to the back of the framed painting.
Added note: The artist died on August 19, 1973
