Jackson Morey Hensley was born in Portales, New Mexico on September 6, 1940. He began study at the National Academy of Design in New York City in 1959 with W.A. Levy and Leon Kroll, where he exhibited and received a merit scholarship. As a young man in New York, he also received prizes from the National Arts Club and Salmagundi Club, which awarded him a full membership in 1960.
In 1965, he decided to return to New Mexico to live in Taos, where he now resides, painting and running the Hens (showing 500 of 1320 characters). |
