This biography from the Archives of AskART:
| Note from Salvatore Russo, March 2004.
My mother-in-law has a painting by Henrici of a young girl who appears to be selling newspapers. In her right hand she is holding up a newspaper, and in the other, a basket on her arm (left arm), with newspapers in it. The painting is signed by him in the lower left corner. Under his signature looks like NYC, but not sure. Could not find a date. Pasted to the back of the frame is a short biography of the artist as follows: Born in New York City 1863 Studied under Prof. Boyle, Brooklyn, NY, Institute, 1878 Graduated from Dussel Dorf Academy, 1888, under Director Jansen and Professor Roeting. Studied a Year in Bruselles, Ecole des Beaux arts under Director Portaels. Also Private instructions under Prof Pieters Studied in Berlin and Munich. Returned to US in 1892. |
