|  Born in San Francisco, she maintains a studio in New York City. She earned a B.F.A. from the University of California at Santa Cruz and an M.F.A. in Painting from the Yale School of Art in New Haven.
She has had numerous fellowships and study grants including a 1986 Fulbright-Hayes Grant to West Berlin and a 1995 Fellowship from the National Endowment for the Arts. |
