| | Born in Amenia, NY on April 18, 1840. Kate Powers was a pupil of A. H. Wyant in NYC. In 1867 she wed Alanson Herrick and moved to California in 1884. Her husband was pastor of the Oak Park Baptist Church in Sacramento. Mrs. Herrick lived in San Francisco during 1900-11 and continued her art studies with Lorenzo P. Latimer and Chris Jorgensen. Returning to Sacramento, she lived there until her death on Jan. 2, 1926. Exh: Calif.
