| Landscape painter. Born in Lamberton, MN on April 5, 1895. Hosmer moved to California with his family in 1903. In 1917 he enrolled at the CSFA where he learned to paint from teachers Van Sloun, Randolph, and Martinez. In 1930 he settled in Lodi, CA and lived there for his remaining years. Combining a career as both artist and vinyardist, from 1950 until 1977 he was the fine arts director of the Lodi Grape Festival and National Wine Show.
