Mr. and Mrs. Hatch were close friends of my parents in China in 1910 till his death in China in 1914. Mrs. Hatch remained a close friend. Mr Hatch was employed by the US Bureau of Printing and Engraving, I don't know if he did coins or paper money. When the Chinese decided they wanted to establish a modern currency system, they hired Lorenzo Hatch to come to Peking.
He was born in Dorset, VT and the history of the town contain (showing 500 of 718 characters). |
