She was a resident of San Francisco by 1871, and married William Higgins there.
She was one of the first students at the School of Design in 1874, and exhibited at the San Francisco Art Association from 1873-1900, and the Mechanics' Institute from 1874-1881. She also exibited at the Whitney Museum of American Art in 1918 and 1920. Though she created landscapes, portraits and still-lives while teaching in the pulic school system, her works are rare. She exhibited under both, (showing 500 of 1115 characters). |
