Marian F. Holland (1921-1996)
A realist genre and figure painter in oil and watercolor, she began painting in an abstract expressionist style around 1956. She also enjoyed working in sculpture and pottery. Holland was greatly influenced by Balcomb Greene, James Brookes, Conrad Marcarelli, Larry Rivers, and Phillip Guston when she became a monitor for the charter class of the Fine Arts Institute of New College in Sarasota, Florida.
