| Painter Marie Bruner Haines was born in Cincinnati, Ohio in 1885, growing up there, and in Dayton and Madisonville, Ohio. Haines was a painter of different subjects, including landscapes varied according to locale, flavor and subject matter in Georgia, Florida, Texas, New Mexico and Bennington, Vermont. She painted Indian subjects in Taos, New Mexico in the 1920s, as well as later from sketches made there. She also painted commissioned portraits, and did pastels of children in the 1940s and 1950 (showing 500 of 1651 characters). |
