| Born in Yorkshire, England on Oct. 8, 1863. Harland studied in London under Borough Johnson, in Dresden, and in Paris under Mme. Laforge at Académie Julian. While in Paris, she befriended fellow art student Lida Price and moved with her to southern California about 1906. Harland was a resident of Santa Monica until her death on Dec. 15, 1943.
