Biography from Dixon-Hall Fine Art:
| Born in Philadelphia, Mary Pemberton Ginther attended the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts and the Philadelphia School of Design for Women. She exhibited at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, Philadelphia Art Club, and the Plastic Club. Ginther married M.P.G. Heyler and resided in Buckingham, Bucks County, PA.
A painter in oil, pastel, and charcoal, her known subjects include landscapes, still life and figurative works. She designed stained glass windows for the Church of Restoration in Philadelphia and St. John’s Church in Suffolk, Virginia. Ginther was illustrator and author of Bethanne”, “Hilda Series”, and “The Jade Necklace”. |
