| | Born in Washington, DC on Aug. 3, 1902. Holst traveled across the U.S. to California in 1918 on a motorcycle. He was a resident of Los Angeles in 1929 and then for 34 years ran an ad agency in Honolulu and San Francisco. Upon retirement in 1964, he settled in Pebble Beach, CA and died there on March 31, 1998. | Source:
