This biography from the Archives of AskART:
Born in Eureka, CA on Aug. 25, 1873. Mary Young attended the CCAC and CSFA. During the 1920s she headed the art department at Mission High School in San Francisco and had an interior decorating studio on Sutter Street with her husband Clark Hobart. She exhibited often with her husband and collaborated with him on art projects. She died in San Francisco on Jan. 19, 1946. Member: Pacific AA; SF Women Artists; SFAA. Exh: Sequoia Club (SF), 1909, 1914; Golden Gate Park Museum, 1916; SFAA from 1916; Paul Elders (SF), 1919; Delphian Clubs of Calif., 1921; City of Paris (SF), 1924; Berkeley League of FA, 1924; GGIE, 1939. In: Mills College (Oakland).
