| Paul Hammersmith (
Basically self-taught, Hammersmith was a member of the Chicago Society of Etchers, and the Wisconsin Painters and Sculptors, also serving as President of this organization.
He exhibited at the Milwaukee Art Institute as well as in other cities around the U.S. including San Francisco, Chicago, St. Paul, Newark, New Jersey, Brooklyn, and New York. He received silver and bronze medals for etching as well as special mentions.
His etchings are in the permanent collections of the Chicago Art Institute, New York Public Library, Newark Public Library, St. Paul Art Institute, among others.
