Perrietta Hester is known for her impressionist landscapes, wild life images, still life works, portraits, and abstract works. She paints primarily in oils, and does a considerable amount of plein air painting. In addition to her artistic endeavors, she has taught art at the Los Angeles Unified School District, University of California San Diego, Palomar College and San Diego Community College.
Hester studied at San Diego State University, where she earned both a BA and MA degree in Fine Art. Hester spent individual study time with Everett Gee Jackson, Sebastien Capella, and Sergei Bongardt.
Residing in the San Diego, California area, she was a Founding Member of the San Diego Portrait Society. She is currently a member of the La Jolla Art Association, the San Diego Museum of Art Artist’s Guild and the California Art Club. Hester has exhibited widely in Southern California and has been an award winner in many venues.
