A miniaturist born in Paris, France around 1760, he arrived in New York in 1788 and advertised his services in the New York Daily Advertiser. Traveling along the East Coast to the Southern states, he fulfilled commissions in New York, Baltimore, Philadephia, Alexandria, Richmond, Charleston and New Orleans. His miniatures varied in sizes, down to that of a small ring.
