Philip Harrison Hays was born in Sherman, Texas on March 14, 1931.  During the 1950s Hays’ illustrations appeared in Cosmopolitan, Esquire, Fortune, and McCall’s magazines.  He was chairman of the illustration department of the Art Center College in Pasadena, CA until his demise on October 24, 2005.
