 Primarily known for his watercolor scenes of New Orleans, he also painted the surrounding landscape, including bayous. Hoffman painted in New Orleans in the 1950s and '60s, and is mentioned in the edition of the Times Picayune on July 14, 1957. He moved to Seattle in the early 1970s, but took his life in a tavern in April of 1973, according to the Seattle Post.
