A painter and etcher, Robert Harshe was born in Salisbury, Missouri on May 26, 1879. He studied at Art Institute of Chicago, Art Students League in New York City, University of Missouri, Teachers College of New York under Arthur Dow, Century School of Arts & Crafts in London, and Académie Colarossi in Paris.
He was a resident of the San Francisco Bay area during 1908-16. While in California, he co-founded the California Society of Etchers (1913) and served as its first pre (showing 500 of 1294 characters). |
