| Sculptor, painter. Born in NYC on Sept. 20, 1896, the son of Mary Bradbury and architect John Galen Howard. At six years of age Robert Howard moved to Berkeley, CA with his family. Upon graduating from Berkeley High School, his art studies were at the CCAC under Xavier Martinez, UC under Worth Ryder and Perham Nahi, and with Kenneth Hayes Miller at the ASL in NYC. After serving in the Army in WWI, Howard studied art in Paris at Academies Colarossi and Grande Chaumière. Returning to San Francisco (showing 500 of 1857 characters). |
