Rokni Haerizadeh is among the generation of young Iranian artists who have emerged after the Iranian revolution of 1979. Born in 1978, Rokni Haerizadeh pursued his Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts from University of Tehran and obtained a certificate in writing from Islamic Ministry of Culture and Guidance.

Rokni Haerizadeh, who was also an MA student in painting at the Faculty of fine Arts at the University of Tehran, got his first break when famous art collector Charles Saatchi acquires and showcased his work in Unveiled : New Art from the Middle East in January of 2009. Based in Dubai since 2009, he has exhibited at Galerie Thaddaeus Ropac in Paris and Gallery Isabelle Van Den Eynde in Dubai.

During one of his trips outside of Iran for an exhibition , Rokni received a call from one his friend warning him and his artist brother Ramin not to return to Iran: their work was seized by the Islamic republic.

In Carnegie Museum of Art international web about Rokni, 2010-2011, it is written:"he transforms media imagery of protest, disaster, and violence from the 2009 Iranian demonstrations into a fairy tales of sensual delights..."

His subject varies from wedding,galas,murders, parades, funeral,rites and perhaps any new Iranian folk or tradition.British Museum, Tehran Museum and JP Morgan collection are among few institutions who have purchased his art work.

Rokni Haerizadeh has been in Sharjah Biennial in 2011, Saatchi gallery in 2009 and Tehran Museum of Contemporary Art (2004)

Rokni Haerizadeh was born in Tehran, Iran in 1978. He is the brother of fellow artist Ramin Haerizadeh. They were exiled in the spring of 2009 after the Iranian authorities became aware of their artworks and currently live and work in Dubai, UAE.

He graduated from the University of Tehran with a BA in Fine Arts as well as receiving an MA in painting. Haerizadeh’s work has appeared in solo exhibitions such as at Galerie Thaddeus Ropac in Paris as well as in group exhibitions including Unveiled: New Art from the Middle East at the Saatchi Gallery, London.
