Biography from Blackhawk Gallery:
Ron Holyfield's paintings are intended to exhibit a sense of presence and reality created from a deep love of his subjects, birds and animals.

Although Holyfield demonstrated artistic talent as a child, the creative catalyst for his painting career was a painting he received for Christmas one year. He began taking lessons and studied with John R. Taylor of Suffolk, Virginia and watercolorist Edgar A. Whitney. In 1982, after ten years of studying and painting seriously, Holyfield made the leap into the unknown, resigning from his position in the Nuclear Engineering Department of the Norfolk Naval Shipyard to paint full-time.

His exhibits of recent years include the Southeastern Wildlife Exposition, the Waterfowl Festival, the NatureWorks Wildlife Art Show & Sale, the Florida Wildlife Exposition, and a two-person show with wife Kay Williams for the National Wildlife Federation in Washington D.C.

FIRST Place Painting, all media, Pacific Rim Wildlife Art Show International Art Competition.
BEST of Show - 8th Annual Nautical and Wildlife Art Festival, Ocean City, MD.
