This biography from the Archives of AskART:
Born in Germany on April 5, 1890. Rose Keller came to the U.S. with her family in 1904. By the late 1920s she had settled in San Diego where she and her husband, Fulton Hanks, established La Paloma Studio in Old Town. They sold pottery and operated a restaurant next door. Most of her work was architectural sculpture. Locally, she did decorations on the Bank of America building, Western Auto Supply building, and an incuse relief panel (The Welcoming of Christ) at the Old Town Community Church. Mrs. Hanks died in San Diego on Dec. 26, 1979.
