This biography from the Archives of AskART:
The following information is from Peter Holden, son of the artist:

Ruth Egri Holden (1911 - 1996) pursued an art career that spanned nearly
eighty years. Her work has been exhibited in galleries and museums
throughout the United States and is included in numerous museum and private collections.

Egri's (she painted under the name of Ruth Egri) art is representative of the style called Dynamic Symmetry. Indeed, her extensive notes and samples of her work have recently been included in the permanent collection of the Smithsonian Institution as part of the historical record of Dynamic Symmetry.

During her career, she has used a variety of media including oil, pastel,
acrylics, and ball point pen. There is a common thread of social
consciousness that runs through Egri's work. The reference is often subtle,
at times satirical, sometimes poignant, sometimes self-critical or even
humorous. Form, though, always dominated detail. Later in life, most of her
art depicted women. The theme was not one of pop feminism, but rather it
delved into the emotional drama of women's lives. Underlying her work and
her career was a sense that art could depict our social and psychological
conditions.
