| Born in Quebec, Canada on Feb. 27, 1895. Harpe studied music early in life and then turned to art. She studied at the NAD, Ecole des Beaux Arts in Paris, and graduated from Columbia University with a degree in architecture. After moving to California about 1918, she obtained an M.A. degree from Stanford University and then began a long career as an art teacher at Monterey Union High School. Upon retirement in 1960, she continued painting and exhibiting locally until her death in Carmel, CA (showing 500 of 2162 characters). |
