| An abstract painter, Stewart Hitch combined aspects of geometric abstraction and Color field painting in his early works that depicted star shapes. Over time, his style loosened and he incorporated graffiti art. He had grants from the tiffany Foundation, the Gottlieb Foundation and the National Endowment for the Arts.
