The following, submitted December 2005, is from the artist.
Tom Heflin was born in the small town of Monticello, Arkansas 50 miles
from the Louisianna line. He spent much of his childhood alone
exploring a nearby region known as The Seven Devil Swamps.
Hunting and fishing was an obsession. The schools at that time
did not have art classes, but that did not deter him from
drawing. When his family moved north in search for employment he
had the good fortune (showing 500 of 3892 characters). |
