Trenton Doyle Hancock, "known for spraling installations that spill over gallery walls and floors in a three-dimensional torrent of handwritten words and cartoonish images," (Heartney, 68) was brought up in Paris, Texas and is now a resident of Houston. He earned a BFA from Texas A&M in 1997 and an MFA from Tyler School of Art in Philadelphia in 2000.
