| A Midwesterner by birth, Walter Hatke paints landscape, architecture, still lifes and interiors in super-real and trompe l'oeil styles. He lives in the Hudson-Mohawk valley region of upstate New York where he has long been fascinated with the landscape and history.
In 1987, he began teaching at Union College in Schenectady and ten years later was named May I Baker Professor of Fine Art. He has received an Artist Fellowship from the National Endowment for the Arts.
