| Hopper was born in Indianapolis, Indiana in 1935. He earned his B.F.A. degree from John Herron Art Institute of Indiana University in 1958. He studied watercolor with Charles Burchfield. At Florida State University he received his Master's degree in 1960. Here he learned encaustic painting from Dr. Karl Zerbe. He has taught and has been an artist/lecturer for the Indianapolis Museum of Art. In 1969 Hopper moved to NY City to paint full time. In the Spring of 1973 he was invited to affiliate with the Betty Parsons Gallery, NY City.
Hopper has had One-Man Exhibitions at the John Herron Art Institute of Indiana University, Florida State University, The Sheldon Swope Art Museum, and numerous galleries.
Today Hopper's paintings are in private and public collections throughout the United States, as well as Europe and Australia.
