| Born in Cleveland, OH on Oct. 7, 1884. Izant started his business career in his native city as architect and engineer. From 1916-23 he was works manager of Corning Glass Works in Corning, NY. He settled in Los Angeles in 1923 and became general manager of the A. J. Bayer Company. He cast the original Academy Award “Oscar” before establishing his own metal manufacturing company in 1939. His company produced the beautiful metal work on the Doheny Memorial Library and the Hancock Memorial at (showing 500 of 1578 characters). |
