| Born in Oakland, CA on May 9, 1876. Following graduation from Stanford, "Hallie" Hyde was a resident of San Francisco. In 1904 she married well-known journalist Will Irwin, author of The City That Was. Settling on a farm near Brookdale in Santa Cruz County, she became a charter member of the Brookdale Club. After divorcing Will, she married his brother Herman in 1955. Mrs. Irwin died in Brookdale on April 27, 1962. As well as a miniature painter, she was (showing 500 of 799 characters). |
