Born in Marion, IL on May 20, 1907. Irwin settled in Los Angeles in 1926. While working as a freelance artist, he painted landscapes of the area while on outings with his teacher Marion Kavanagh Wachtel. After serving in WWII, he was manager of the advertising department at Borax Company. He died in Los Angeles on Sept. 2, 1966. Exh: Broadway Dept Store (LA), 1935 (solo).
