| | Born in New Jersey on Aug. 5, 1897, the son of architect, Henry Ihnen. Ihnen studied at the ASL in NYC and in Paris at Ecole des Beaux-Arts. He moved to Hollywood in 1928 and was assistant to David Siquieros on the Plaza Art Center mural in 1932. He had a long career as a set designer and art director for major movie studios. In 1940 he wed designer Edith Head.
