Biography from AskART:
| Xavier Ironside born in England was brought to the United States by his uncle as a child after the death of his mother during World War II. Upon reaching the United States his name was changed from Tom to Xavier. He studied at the Royal Academy of Art in England for a time then returned to Knoxville, Tennessee to work as an artist and raise a family.
Xavier Ironside found notoriety when Senator Howard Baker of Tennessee gave an interview to Esquire Magazine mentioning his work. Other publications were soon inquiring about him.
His paintings are deemed to be in the Wyeth style.
