Growing up in the Chicago area, contemporary landscape painter Clay Johnson received his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Northern Illinois University in 1975. He went on to study at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts with Arthur DeCosta, Ben Kamihira, and Louis Sloan.
Currently living in the Manayunk area of Philadelphia, Johnson paints the surrounding landscape in a painterly realist style.
