This biography from the Archives of AskART:
Born in Bloomington, IL on Oct. 19, 1867. Johnson studied art with William M. Chase in NYC and in Paris at Académie Julian under Constant and Laurens. She was a resident of NYC in 1933 and settled in Beverly Hills, CA about 1940. A spinster, she died there on Nov. 9, 1949. Exh: AIC, 1908; USC, Fisher Gallery, 1944; Beverly Hills Womens Club, 1945; Society for Sanity in Art, CPLH, 1944-45; SWA, 1947.
