Known for his creation of the comic strip "Moon Mullins," Fred Johnson began his career as assistant to Frank Willard, creator of "Moon Mullins." After Willard's death in 1958, Johnson took over the strip until 1991, "probably the longest a creator has ever stayed on a single feature in the history of American comics."
