| | Born in Grand Rapids, MI on July 21, 1893. Jewell was a pupil of Mathias J. Alten. He lived in Grand Rapids prior to moving to California. With his wife Melisse Jewell, he was a resident of San Diego from 1932-38. He died in Illinois in August 1984.
