| Born in Pleasant Plain, IA on Aug. 22, 1876. Johns was a pupil of Wm P. Silva, Henri deKruif, and other eastern painters for ten years. In 1924 she moved to Los Angeles into a studio on Olvera Street. She was active there until her death on Feb. 16, 1935. As well as still lifes, her work includes scenes of Olvera Street and the Mexican quarter of Los Angeles. Exh: Calif. Art Club, 1928-34; Friday Morning Club (LA), 1929; Calif.
