Please note: Artists not classified as American in our database may have limited biographical data
compared to the extensive information about American artists.
Jozsa Jaritz was born in Hungary in 1893 to an upper middle-class
family. From 1912 to 1913, she was a disciple of Lajos Ebner Deak
at the Hungarian Academy of Fine Arts. In 1914 she was taught by
Bela Ivanyi Grunwald at Kecsjenet artists’ colony, then during the war
she continued her studies at Ivanyi Gruwald private school in Csaky
Street. After the closure of this school she attended Oszkar
Glatz’s school in Fehervari Street. Here she met Vilma Kiss and
Anna Czi (showing 500 of 3740 characters). |
