| Learning taxidermy and animal anatomy in Colorado, Louis Jonas then
moved to New York where he worked at the American Museum of Natural
History. Associates were famous sculptors including Carl Akeley and
Herman MacNeil. Jonas and Akeley created "Indian Elephant Group", which
became a famous sculpture at the museum.
Other pieces by Jonas
are "Commemorating the Grizzly Bear" at the Municipal Park in Denver
and a Rhinocerous for the Davenport, Iowa public museum.
