| Born in Anaconda, MT on Nov. 30, 1898. Louisa grew up in Seattle, WA. During WWI she served as a nurse in France and remained there for one year to study painting with Natalia Goncharova. Returning to the U.S., she married Mathew Jenkins and settled on the Monterey Peninsula. In 1958 she created her first of many mosaics for Catholic chapels. For her liturgical work, St Mary's College of Notre Dame (IN) awarded her an honorary degree. She was active as an artist until her death in Carmel (showing 500 of 962 characters). |
