Painter and graphic artist Alma Lucille Jeffries, known as Lucille Jeffries, was born in Louise, Texas, and grew up in Del Rio and Mission. She graduated, in 1931, from Mary Hardin-Baylor College, Belton, Texas, where she also worked as a teacher in 1934-1939, after two years teaching at San Marcos Baptist Academy, 1932-33.
She continued her studies during summers while teaching, receiving a Master of Arts degree from Columbia University, New York City. She also attended summer sessions (showing 500 of 1686 characters). |
