| Marian Levy Jochimsen was born in Alaska on July 4, 1894. In 1907 Marion Levy moved from Juneau to San Francisco where she attended high school and studied at the Institute of Art under Frank Van Sloun. She then continued her studies in Paris at Académie Scandinave. About 1913 she married one of her father's friends, Achton Jochimsen, a whaler. During the 1920s she lived in NYC where she was a portrait artist, and during the 1940s and 1950s she worked as a commercial arti (showing 500 of 999 characters). |
