This biography from the Archives of AskART:
Victor Julius (1882-1958) was born in Boston and later moved to New York to study at the Art Students' League. In the early 1930s, he began visiting and exploring the New Jersey shore and settled into a permanent residence in Manasquan, New Jersey.

Julius was an active member of the American Watercolor Society, Allied Artists of America, the Artist's Fellowship Society, and the Salmagundi Club.

Submitted August 2004 by Brenda Molloy Palley who "found the information in the catalog of the Bristol-Myers Squibb Gallery show, "The Fascination of Sun and Shore: Impressionist Painters of the New Jersey Shore 1870-1940," which was held last autumn. It had been kindly sent me by Mr. Roy Pedersen who was co-curator with Kate Somers (Bristol-Myers Squibb's curator) of this show.
