| | Born in Sweden on Feb. 21, 1888. Johanson taught at Stanford University and the CCAC during the 1930s. In 1947 he became chairman of the art department at San Francisco State University. His last years were spent in Los Angeles; he died there at the Veterans Hospital on Sept. 4, 1957. His works include landscapes of Mount Shasta and New England.
