Biography from Butler Institute of American Art:
| Bernard Klonis was born in Naugatuck, Connecticut in 1906, and studied at the Art Student's League under Homer Boss. First sponsored by Contemporary Arts in 1938, his work has been seen in many water color exhibitions in the country.
The Metropolitan Museum of Art acquired a fine example for their permanent collection and another fine one is in the collection of the University of Arizona. The University of Georgia acquired his "Midsummer Night's Dream" from his second one-man showing at Contemporary Arts in 1946. |
